Registered Counsellor · Brisbane
Gentle, compassionate, and solution-focussed.
Kylie is curious about people and has many years of experience working with individuals and couples in Australia and overseas. She is passionate about, and dedicated to the growth and development of all her clients.
She employs different theories and techniques to get the best for her clients. She believes in the philosophy of Kintsugi: that repair is a process and that the end product, whilst altered from the original state, can be transformed into a thing of beauty.
Registered with both ACA and PACFA, Kylie is committed to the highest standards of ethical, confidential practice — and to meeting you exactly where you are.
A path to this work
Kylie came to counselling after spending years working in settings where she saw firsthand what happens when people carry their struggles alone — in silence, out of shame, or simply because they didn't know help was available.
She trained formally in counselling after more than a decade of professional experience in related fields, and has spent the years since building a practice grounded in one core belief: every person has the capacity for growth — and that capacity expands significantly when they feel truly heard.
Kylie works with adults navigating anxiety, grief, burnout, self-worth struggles, and major life transitions — as well as couples seeking to communicate better, repair trust, or simply invest in their relationship before it deteriorates.
Her approach is warm, direct, and deeply collaborative. She asks good questions, sits with uncertainty, and resists the urge to rush toward resolution before understanding has formed.
“I became a counsellor because I believe in the transformative power of being genuinely witnessed. It sounds simple. But for most people, it's rare.”
Core values
These aren't just words on a wall. They shape every session, every question, and every choice Kylie makes about how to show up.
Non-judgement
The therapeutic relationship only works if you feel safe. Kylie brings a genuinely non-judgemental presence — there is nothing you can say that will change that.
Curiosity over prescription
Good therapy asks good questions. Kylie is more interested in understanding your experience than in diagnosing it or telling you what to do.
Your pace, always
There is no rush. The process unfolds at the speed that's right for you — no agenda, no pressure to be 'better' by a certain session.
Whole-person focus
You are more than your presenting problem. Kylie works with you as a whole person — your history, your relationships, your body, and your future.
The therapeutic approach
Kylie draws on a range of evidence-based modalities, integrating them to suit each individual. No single approach fits every person — the tools are always in service of you, not the other way around.
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Helps you clarify what truly matters and take meaningful action — even in the presence of difficult thoughts or feelings.
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Practical tools for identifying and shifting unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour.
- Attachment-informed practice
- Explores how early relational experiences shape current patterns in relationships, self-worth, and emotional regulation.
- Emotionally Focused approaches
- Particularly useful in relationship counselling — getting beneath surface conflict to the emotional needs underneath.
- Mindfulness-based techniques
- Building present-moment awareness to reduce reactivity and create space between stimulus and response.
